"Yoroshiku" is usually used as an introductory greeting. It literally translates to "well, good, or properly". If taken in a literal context, the phrase would mean "Please be good to me" but the phrase equivalent in English would be "Nice to meet you". It is spoken after giving out one's name when being introduced to someone or when meeting someone for the first time.
